Care Instructions
At House of Olga, each piece is thoughtfully crafted using delicate materials and artisan techniques—including luxurious handwoven fabrics. Proper care will preserve the integrity, softness, and beauty of your garments for years to come.
1. General Guidelines
Handle with care: Many garments feature fine lace, silk, or handwoven textiles. Treat with gentleness.
Limit washing: Refresh between wears with airing or steaming to avoid unnecessary wear.
Spot clean when possible: A small splash or smudge may not require full washing.
2. Special Care for Handwoven Fabrics
Our handwoven pieces are treasures made on traditional looms with slight variations that add to their uniqueness. To honor the craftsmanship:
-Always hand wash with cool water and a natural or gentle detergent.
-Do not rub, wring, or twist—the tension can distort the weave.
-Gently press water out between your palms.
-Reshape while damp and lay flat to dry on a towel.
-Avoid direct sunlight to preserve color vibrancy.
-Do not machine wash or tumble dry under any circumstance.
-When ironing, use a low temperature with a protective pressing cloth; never iron over embroidery or embellishments.
Note: As handwoven fabrics may soften and mold to your shape with wear, slight loosening over time is normal and adds to their beauty.
3. Washing Instructions (Non-Handwoven Garments)
a. Hand Wash Preferred
-Use cool or lukewarm water with a gentle detergent.
-Soak for 3–5 minutes.
-Lightly agitate and press—do not wring or scrub.
-Rinse thoroughly and blot with a towel.
b. Machine Washing (If Labeled Safe)
-Use a mesh lingerie bag.
-Select a delicate or wool cycle with cold water.
-Use a gentle detergent free of bleach or enzymes.
-Wash similar fabrics together.
4. Drying
-Never tumble dry.
-Reshape and lay garments flat on a towel.
-Avoid direct heat or sunlight which can cause fading or shrinkage.
-Do not hang knits or handwoven items.
5. Ironing & Steaming
-Use a steamer for gentle wrinkle release.
-If ironing, use the lowest heat setting and a pressing cloth.
-Avoid ironing lace, tulle, or delicate trims directly.
6. Storing Your Garments
-Store folded in breathable cotton or muslin garment bags.
-Avoid overcrowding drawers or shelves to protect the shape.
-Keep away from moisture and direct sunlight.
7. Fragrances & Lotions
-Apply perfumes, oils, and lotions before dressing.
-Avoid spraying directly on garments to prevent discoloration or fabric damage.
